Golng beyond faith at church - include faith where you live

I'm mainly talking about loving life in my own neighbourhood. I can love the Giver of life and I can burst with joy in my own community association.

Highland Park, the home neighbourhood for my church (Centre Street Church in Calgary, Canada) had a community skate day on Saturday (February 27, 2010) and some people from the church joined in! We popped popcorn, let people know about La Boutique (free, gently used clothing for the whole family), the choir Easter Concert, Promiseland Scouts, and we loved people. There were 120 people there, including community association leaders, city of Calgary event organizers and our Provincial Member of the Legislative Assembly, Kyle Fawcett.

Imagine, if we didn't just do church at church, but if we did church right where we lived! Imagine if we were connected with followers of Jesus on our block, if we prayed for our block, if we took part in community life, and with love and hope, we shared freely about the way to God through Christ.

I put up a couple of pictures. Take a look!
